NCM Dividend Champions

NCM is pleased to announce the fund previously known as the NCM Norrep Fund has been renamed NCM Dividend Champions.  The new name provides greater transparency and is more reflective of the fund’s mandate since its investment objectives were changed.  On November 12th, 2020, the fund changed to a mandate designed to achieve long-term capital appreciation and consistent income by investing in equity securities of all market capitalization issuers.  The NCM Dividend Champions will continue to be managed by Michael Simpson who has been the lead PM on the fund since November 12th, 2020.

Dividend Champions

Michael invests primarily in dividend champions. These are companies that pay a consistent dividend or have increased their dividend. The Fund uses the dividends to compound income over time.

Experienced Portfolio Manager

Michael has over 25 years of experience in actively managing investments. He has seen multiple economic cycles and how markets react. He specializes in dividend and income-paying securities with a focus on free cash flow to sustain reliable dividends.

All Cap Approach

NCM Dividend Champions invests in small, mid to large companies in North America, adding more investment opportunities in the North American investment universe.

The Fund can invest up to 49% in the U.S. but must invest 50-90% in Canadian equities depending upon Michael's market outlook. This gives diversification in the North American markets with an experienced Portfolio Manager.

Reduced Volatilty

Dividend-paying equities typically exhibit less volatility than non-dividend paying equities. This helps provide a smoother ride and peace of mind when market downturns happen.

Concentrated Portfolio

NCM Dividend Champions has a concentrated portfolio of 30 to 40 holdings. We do not own the index and only hold companies that are profitable and in most cases pay a dividend.

On May 20, 2022, the NCM Norrep Fund was renamed NCM Dividend Champions.

On November 12, 2020, the investment objective of NCM Norrep Fund was changed from a focus on small capitalization Canadian equities to broader mandate focused on dividend-paying Canadian and U.S. equities of all capitalization. If the change had been in effect prior to November 12, 2020, the Fund’s performance could have been materially different.
